About Us

We have an excellent two-storied Library, which is fully automated with a wide collection of books, periodicals and CDs. The first floor houses a vast collection of books from various disciplines and has a spacious reading room. The ground floor includes two computer rooms with internet connection to facilitate access to online resources. The library has an open access system and is committed to the creation of a technology driven learning environment. Electronic resources such as EBSCO host and NList are made available to all member of the Library.

The library with its modern collection of information resources and innovative information services plays a vital role in the intellectual pursuits of the student community. Library expanded its collection & functions along with the growth of the college. The library has a vast collection of books and journals. It consists of international journals, international Magazines, Electronic Resources and Books We also impart training to diploma and degree holders in Library Science.

Issue system

Open access is followed in our library. Students are allowed to go to the stack room, and have the freedom to make their own selection of the books of their particular subject. Browne issue system is followed in our library. According to Browne charging procedure, library tickets are used for Book Issue and return.

    Reference Service

    Library staff provides assistance to everyone in the academic community for the identification and use of specific resource materials

    Book Bank

    Our library offers book bank facility for economically backward students. At the beginning of the academic year, teachers will identify the deserving students and the books will be issued to them from the Library Book Bank

    Reprography Service

    Two photocopying machines are installed in the library. Students and staff can avail reprography service at the rate of Rs.1.00/- per page

    Internet Browsing

    Our library has 21 computers for internet browsing. Students have free access to internet service for academic purposes

    INFLIBNET

    N-list project offers students access to world’s best online data bases including EBSCO and JSTOR with thousands of high quality research papers and eBooks on various subjects. Students can read the eBooks cover-to-cover online, browsing them by topic, searching within and across the eBooks. They can print up to 60 pages of an eBook at a time. University Grant Commission is providing electronic information support for education, research and extension. Information and Library Networks (INFLIBNET) for E-Resources NLIST is one of such service. The nodal agency providing this service is INFLIBNET, Ahmadabad, Gujarat. At present, more than 93810 e-journals and more than 6250 E Books are accessible.

    More than 10,338 journals are accessible through this directory. More than 6,173 journals are searchable at article level. Presently more than 18 lakhs articles are included in the DOAJ service from 136 countries.

    Rules

    • Students will not be permitted to enter the library without identity card
    • Identity card should be scanned at the entrance
    • As the library is a place of individual study, students so conduct themselves inside the library to maintain an atmosphere conducive to this. Strict silence must be observed in the library, reading room, and its immediate premises.
    • Books should be handled with great care. Please wrap the books when you use them.
    • Pencil marks, ink stains, and underlining in books, destruction in binding, tearing of pages, pictures etc. will be treated as serious damage and fined accordingly. For Damage to or loss of books, students might replace such books or pay the compensation.
    • Reference books such as Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, Yearbooks, Literary reference etc. should be consulted within the library
    • No combined reference work or discussion is to be done inside the library or reading room
