Jinto E J was born in Chalakudy. He did his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Panampilly Memorial Government College, Chalakudy. He completed his post graduate degree in Statistics from Christ College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda. He has also worked as guest lecturer at Panampilly Memorial Government College, Chalakudy for five years.
