Every year the students of the College Union officially start their activities after an inauguration ceremony. The newly elected College Union members asked permission from the Principal to organise such an event. Shri. P. Vahid, Superintendent of Police and Assistant Director of Police Academy agreed to become the chief guest for the day. 7th of December was the date chosen for the inauguration of the College Union 2022.
The official function began with a prayer. Principal of the college then pinned the badges for the College Union members. Each of the 63 members received badges with their names and posts to which they were elected to. After receiving the badges, Sr. Principal then led them in an oath in which they pledged to perform their duties and serve the college to the best of their abilities.
After oath taking, the official function began in which the Chairperson, Ms. Anna Julia Veliayan welcomed the gathering. Dr. Reena Ittyachan, Principal of the college then gave the presidential address and also spoke a few words about the chief guest. Mr. P. Vahid, Superintendent of Police and Assistant Director of Police Academy then officially inaugurated the College Union activities for the academic year 2022-23 by lighting the lamp. He also delivered the inaugural address by sharing his experiences and encouraged our students to be brave enough to face any situation they might encounter in their lives. Dr. Vijitha Mukundan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics felicitated the college union. General secretary Ms. Ayisha Farheen delivered the vote of thanks.
After the official ceremony, Mr. P. Vahid also inaugurated the “shoot out” competition that was to be held for the students of our college. Students then enjoyed a DJ party in the afternoon.
