The Examination Cell is a statutory body established in accordance with the University Grants Commission's rules for autonomous colleges. The Examination Cell of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Chalakudy is headed by the Controller of Examinations, who is officially appointed by the College Management in accordance with statutory rules. Dr Santhosh Paul, Assistant Professor & Head of the Department of Chemistry serves as the Controller of Examinations.
Prior to being implemented, the policies surrounding the conduct of the examination and evaluation that are suggested by the Examination Committee are approved by the Academic Council, Governing Body, and parent university. The Chief Controller of Examinations, Controller of Examinations, Assistant Controller of Examinations, Deputy Controller of Examinations, Additional Chief Superintendent, Academic Deans, IQAC Coordinator, and other faculty members nominated by the Principal make up the Examination Committee, an advisory body pertaining to the administration of the examinations and evaluation. The procedures outlined in the examination manual are followed in the administration of the tests and the evaluation procedures.
The office of the Controller of Examinations is completely automated and equipped with the tools required to create question papers, carry out assessment tasks, prepare results, and print mark lists and other pertinent private documents. It carries out all tasks associated with end-semester exams and continuous internal assessment, publishes exam results, and notifies the university on time of the aggregated tabulation report. Under the direction of the Controller of Examinations, a group of office assistants, computer programmers, data entry operators, and other assistants, as well as a deputy controller, manage office operations.
