As part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2024' initiative launched by the Central government, NSS units 76 and 84 organized a series of activities to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Volunteers undertook a thorough cleaning of the premises at the Government Taluk Hospital in Chalakudy, receiving valuable guidance from Municipal Health Official Ms. Syno throughout the process.
In addition, volunteers cleaned the area around the bus stop opposite Sacred Heart College, enhancing the community’s cleanliness. Several volunteers visited local shops and homes in Chalakudy to raise awareness about the importance of proper plastic waste disposal and to promote the campaign 'Say No to Single-Use Plastics.' They emphasized various effective methods for managing plastic waste and distributed pamphlets provided by Swachhata Mission Kerala to further educate the community.
