A two-day national seminar titled "Intersecting Experiences: Depicting Migration and Refugees in Cinematic and Literary Narratives" was recently conducted to honor Ms. Bindu Jose, Head of the English Department, who is set to retire this year. The seminar, held in January 2024, aimed to delve into the portrayal of migration and refugee experiences through various mediums. The seminar commenced with a plenary session featuring Shri Jijoy PR, Director of the KR Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts, who also served as the Chief Guest. Dr. Sajin PJ, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of English at Al-Ameen College, Edathala, Ernakulam, led the first session, providing valuable insights into the topic.

The second session was led by Dr. Yadukrishnan PT, Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at Christ University, Bangalore, who offered further perspectives on migration and refugee narratives. The valedictory session, marking the conclusion of the seminar, was graced by Dr. Merin Simi Raj, Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Madras, who served as the Chief Guest. Her address provided a fitting conclusion to the discussions and reflections shared during the event.
