NSS units 76 and 84 in association with the Physical Education department of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) Chalakudy observed International Yoga Day on 21 June, 2024 at Clare Hall of the college. To spread the theme “YOGA FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT” and the significance of yoga among students and teachers many activities were conducted in the college under the leadership of Dr. Vijitha Mukundan and Mr. Jose James- NSS Program Officers and Dr. Jesmy Jose- Department of Physical Education. NSS volunteers performed yoga dance which enthralled the audiences. The program was presided over by Dr. Sr. Irene, Principal of the college. The resource person Ms. Alpha Babu, Yoga Instructor and Therapist addressed the gathering and stressed on the need of yoga in our everyday life. She motivated the students to spend at least half an hour daily doing yoga and keeping healthy habits. It was followed by a yoga session in which all students participated actively.
