Malayalam dept. in association with the library organized a vayanadinam programme for the staff and students. Dr. Sr. Angela, HoD, Malayalam Dept. welcomed the gathering and the Principal, Dr. Sr. Irene delivered the presidential address. Mr. Anoop M R, Linguist, was the chief guest and he delivered a talk on “Malayalam bhaviyude bhasha”. The staff and students attended the seminar and were enlightened by the talk. The chief guest inaugurated the vayandinam programme and also the book donation drive by handing over the book sponsored by Ms. Parvathy, Retd. Prof, Panampally Govt. College. to the Principal. Ms. Amritha Unni, Student representative gave the felicitation and Ms. Stephy K Sunny, Librarian proposed the vote of thanks. After the formal function, a debate competition was conducted with the topic “Vidyarthikalude videsha kudiyettam: Keralathinte bhavi”. 10 students participated in the debate and spoke for and against the topic. Ms. Parvathy Varma, Assistant. Prof., Dept. of English, moderated the debate. Ms. Divya, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Economics and Ms. Niveditha, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Psychology were the judges. Ms. Mubeena, II BA English and Ms. Divya Abraham, II MSc Zoology became the best debaters. The winners were given cash prizes by Chalakudy MLA, Mr. Saneesh Kumar Joseph.
