Seminar on “Exciting Scientific Research-A Career Option” Organized by the Department of Physics

Department of Physics organized a career-oriented seminar on “Exciting Scientific Research-A Career Option” along with the Department Association “SHARP” inauguration on 20th December 2022. Dr N. Raghu, Director, the Center for Materials for Electronic Technology (CMET), Thrissur was the resource person. Rev. Dr. Sr Irene, Principal inaugurated the programme. The purpose of the seminar was to make awareness of career and research opportunities in physics among the students. Ms Revathy Menon delivered the welcome speech. The session began with a brief introduction to science and physics and their applications. Resource person highlighted various achievements in science, specifically a major breakthrough by Dr A.Seema, a scientist from CMET Thrissur, who invented a low-cost bra that detects breast cancer. He also pointed out the research opportunities for students in CMET and mentioned various competitive exams for pursuing careers in research fields. 64 students attended the session. The session was very informative and many students asked their queries regarding the research areas which were explained well during the session. The students responded positively and requested to conduct more career-oriented seminars.
