The Department of Zoology, in collaboration with the Women’s Dental Council of the Indian Dental Association Chalakudy branch, observed World Cancer Day with a special program focused on raising awareness about cervical cancer prevention. Dr. Sinsila Elizabeth, a Gynecologist and Obstetrician from Mariam Thresia Hospital Kuzhikkattussery, Thrissur, served as the resource person for the event. She provided detailed insights into the importance of HPV vaccination as a preventive measure against cervical cancer, a highly dreaded and high-risk disease among women.
The program was presided over by Dr. Sr. Irene, the Principal of Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy. Her presence added significance to the occasion, emphasizing the college's commitment to promoting health awareness among its students.
