PG ADMISSION RULES

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION AND INDEXING FOR RANKING

  1. The ethnic native Lakshadweep candidates are exempted from appearing the entrance examinations based on the sponsorship letter from the Lakshadweep Administration, subject to eligibility (U.O. No: 14933/2016/Admn dated 26.12.2016). One seat in each PG programme is additionally created and reserved over and above the sanctioned strength for the native students of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, recommended by the Director of Education, Union Territory of Lakshadweep. The candidates recommended by the Director of Education Union Territory of Lakshadweep shall be admitted by completing the CAP registration, with the online registration fee and mandatory fee as applicable to SC/ST students (U.O.No. 12753/2022/Admn Dated, 28.06.2022).
  2. Those who are awaiting final semester/year results of the qualifying examination can also apply. All candidates including result awaiting students shall submit their Mark List/Grade Card (consolidated grade card and provisional certificate) to prove the eligibility of qualifying examination at the time of admission (U.O No.1530/2022/Admn Dated 20.01.2022).
  3. In programmes where selection criteria includes interview, Physical test, Aptitude test etc. the same shall be conducted by the concerned Departments before finalising the rank list.
  4. All candidates seeking admission including those who seek admission under Management quota shall register online and appear for the entrance examination
  5. No individual intimation will be sent to the candidates in respect of entrance examination, results, interview, physical test etc. Candidates shall update themselves with the College Website www.sacredheartcollege.ac.in
  6. The syllabus and Question Paper of entrance examination shall be based on the Eligibility of the programme.
  7. The date of commencement of classes in the colleges will be informed later.
  8. Additional PG: Candidates can apply for Additional PG programmes subject to the conditions laid down in U.O.No. 2545/2024/Admn dated 15.02.2024. A candidate having a regular PG Degree in Non Professional/Professional Programme can avail additional PG in Professional/Non professional programmes under Regular Mode. A candidate can pursue two PG programmes simultaneously one in regular mode and another in Open and Distance Learning (ODL)/Online mode, without overlapping the class timing of the other programme. Students taking additional PG are not eligible for any fee concession and reservation.
  9. Those candidates who had completed their qualifying examination from other Universities shall produce a percentage certificate from the concerned University, if the same is not mentioned in their final grade card/mark list. If they fail to submit the same before the stipulated time, they will not be considered for admission.
  10. Those candidates who had completed their qualifying examination from other Universities shall produce Equivalency /Recognition Certificate for the students of Other States from the University of Calicut.
  11. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) : Five percent (5%) of the seats shall be additionally created, over and above the sanctioned strength in each programme, are reserved for Persons with Disabilities. (U.O.280/2018/Admn dated 06.01.2018). PwD candidates shall produce the medical certificate issued by the District Medical Board or competent authorities stating that the disability is 40% or above. The category of the disabilities should be specified clearly in the medical certificate.

Blind, Deaf and Hard of Hearing students are not eligible for admission to Integrated PG programmes in Science subjects involving practicals.

  1. All candidates seeking admission including those who seek admission under management quota in aided/ self financing colleges shall register online and appear for the entrance examination.
  2. Claim for Reservation under Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe Quota : Candidates claiming reservation under Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes quota should obtain the Caste/Community Certificate from the Tahsildar. The seats unavailed by the SC candidates will go to ST candidates and vice versa .

Claim of OEC candidates against the un-availed seats of SC/ST candidates: Other Eligible Community (OEC) candidates who claim allotment to the unavailed seats, if any, under SC/ST quota should furnish Community and Income certificates obtained from the Village Officer concerned. Those OEC candidates whose annual family income is up to the amount stipulated by the Govt. for this purpose from time to time alone are eligible for such seats.
