As part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Chalakudy organized a series of meaningful programmes to foster patriotism and social awareness among students ๐๐ฎ๐ณ.
On 14 August 2025 ๐
, the Department of History conducted an Inter-departmental Quiz Competition for college students, encouraging them to deepen their understanding of Indiaโs freedom movement, national leaders, the Constitution, and the nationโs post-independence journey ๐โจ.
The celebrations continued on 15 August 2025 ๐
with great patriotic fervour, organized by NSS Units 76 and 84 ๐ฎ๐ณ. The programme began with flag hoisting and an inaugural address by Prof. Dr. Sr. Irene, Principal of the College ๐๐. Messages highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the importance of freedom from drugs were delivered by NSS volunteers ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ซ๐.
All participants took an anti-drug pledge, reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free society ๐ซ๐๐ค. The celebration featured patriotic songs and dance performances by NSS volunteers ๐ถ๐, followed by an Independence Day rally to Chalakudy Railway Station, where slogans promoting freedom and social responsibility were raised ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ฎ๐ณโจ.
