International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

In connection with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed on 26 June 2022, NSS units 76 and 84 organized an awareness rally to Railway Station, Chalakudy on 27 June 2022. The rally was officially flagged off by Dr. Sr. Irene, Principal, Sacred Heart College for Women, Chalakudy. She, in her brief address, sensitized the NSS volunteers against the harmful effects of drug usage. An oath-taking ceremony followed wherein all the gathered unanimously said an emphatic no to drugs. Thereafter, all the NSS volunteers led by NSS program officers, Dr. Vijitha Mukundan, and Ms. Noble A. Paliath enthusiastically participated in the awareness rally holding placards that contained messages against the debilitating effects of drug addiction. More than 50 NSS volunteers took the e- pledge entitled “SAY YES TO LIFE, NO TO DRUGS” and received a certificate from NCB, Govt. of India.
