The College Union, NSS & Women Cell of Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy, organised the Manipur Solidarity Rally for Manipur victims. The preparatory discussion regarding the heart-hitting controversies in Manipur started at 11:00 am. Ms. Smitha Davis, Assistant Professor & Head, gave an outlook on how to empathetically view and solidarize with the people, especially women, of Manipur. Ms. Linet Roslin Antony, Mr. Libin Francis and Ms. Niveditha Ajaygjosh, (Union-in-Charges) provided further discussions on the same. Many students shared their genuine point of view regarding the issue. Students also actively made rally slogans and placards during the discussion session. The procession began with about 200 students at 12:30 pm when Dr. Sr. Irene, Principal, Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy, flagged off the Solidarity Rally with words of support. Many faculties also joined the rally to extend their solidarity to all the victims of the outbursts in Manipur. The College Union collected about 1000 signatures from the people who supported the cause while the rally marched throughout the township of Chalakudy. An official petition was initiated to the Prime Minister of India, to take the proper action to save Manipur and to stop the attacks as soon as possible.
