An orientation programme was conducted for the NSS Volunteers on 11 Aug 2022 in the college auditorium. The resource person for the same was Dr. Arun Balakrishnan, Former NSS Programme Officer (2016 – 2019) and Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Christ College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda. He exhorted the NSS Volunteers and emphasized the need of the hour to be enablers of things as the motto of NSS is purely action-based. The session orientated the NSS Volunteers to kick-start activity-oriented future pursuits. All the NSS Volunteers got actively involved in a plethora of games spearheaded by the resource person. The playoffs were fun-filled and simultaneously, thinking points, as those gauged a combo of abilities in the NSS Volunteers like joint labour, team work, mathematical ability, coordination and social skills. Dr. Arun Balakrishnan urged the NSS Volunteers to come out of their comfort zone and cocoon and to design a definiteness of purpose (‘purpose’ as the buzzword; a lexeme with added impact than the word ‘passion’) and intent in their lives. He insisted the NSS Volunteers to be motivated and passionate. He encouraged them to sell their capabilities. He stimulated them to walk an extra mile by eating, sleeping and drinking NSS because leadership is all about influence and impact. The talk was indeed propelling, engaging and resourceful.
