Grace was born in Ernakulam and grew up in Pariyaram. She completed her schooling at Crescent Public School, Chalakudy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature with complementary courses in Social and Cultural History of Britain and Sociology of Mass Communication from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda. She also has a Master’s degree in English from St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, which is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University. She has further enhanced her qualifications with a CertTESOL from Trinity College London and is a Certified OET Instructor.
Prior to joining Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Chalakudy, in July 2025, she gained significant experience in English language instruction. She worked as an English Language Teacher (ESL) at Cochin International Language Academy from January 2024, where she accumulated over 1500+ hours of teaching experience as an ESL tutor. Her students included a diverse range of individuals of varying ages, professions, and language levels, from children to adults in fields such as nursing, engineering, development, and academia. Additionally, she was a Spoken English teacher at Nirmalamatha Central School in Thrissur, where she was involved in an English Enrichment Programme that included collaborating with native English speakers from the United Kingdom to develop teaching materials and conduct classes from Pre-KG to Class 8.
Drawing upon this extensive experience, she is dedicated to her role in the Department of English and is committed to working with the faculty to enhance students’ overall English proficiency. Her specialized interest lies in English as a Second Language (ESL) and communicative English. She believes that strong language skills are crucial for students’ academic and professional success, and she actively contributes to the department’s English Proficiency Programme. This involves engaging in various initiatives, such as “Mic Drop” sessions and language courses, and making effective use of the language lab to provide students with the practical skills they need to better their communication in English. She is keen to gain more experience and hopes to pursue research in this field. Her personal interests include reading, traveling, and baking.
