Siya Abi

Siya Abi hails from Kodaly from Thrissur district. She has completed her schooling from St. Joseph E.M.H.S.S Aloor and Government Higher Secondary School Kodakara. She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Functional English from Carmel College, Mala. She completed her Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda. Visual media, particularly film, has always held a fascination for her. Her interest lies in unravelling the narrative styles employed in films and the impact it. Committed to academic as well as professional development, she has actively participated in various workshops and seminars. She joined Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Chalakudy as Assistant professor on contract of Journalism in the year 2024.

  • Best Short Film 2023 “Vayosevana Award 2023” by Social Justice Department, Kerala. She performed the main part and was associated with the entire unit in the short film.
  • Best Paper Presentation 2021 by St. Claret College, Bangalore, presented a paper titled “Weeding Out the Real Villain Ego: Kala, A Raw Narrative” at St. Claret College, Bangalore, and was awarded first prize in the LUMOS 2021’s National Level Student Conference on “Modern Narrative in Literature, Cinema, Culture, and Society” on August 7, 2021.
