The department of chemistry is one of the leading departments for its scientific innovation, research aptitude, academic excellence, extension activities and other variety of programmes. Since its inception in 1981, the department has been engaged in imparting quality education and scientific development. The department has a dedicated team of distinguished faculties, educated and trained at renowned institutions in India and abroad; constitutes 3 permanent faculties & 4 guest faculties. The faculty members have enough exposure to carry out their academic responsibilities and research contributions to strengthen academic and industrial interactions. They are being invited to various institutions for seminars as resource persons, faculty development programmes, etc. The faculties are capable to publish research articles in international journals with high impact factor. They are actively publishing books with international publishers and presentations in international & national seminars. The department is conducting seminars of national importance with eminent academic scholars as speakers with international repute.
We provide broad based post-graduate programs with the aim of producing chemists with high professional competence, in carrying out research of both basic and applied nature. The department ensures the scientific growth and personal development of the students. The department is adequately equipped with the latest research and practical instruments known and required to carry out modern day chemistry. The students are provided a comprehensive practical exposure to the various instrumental techniques required for their excellent performance. The rigorous academic study at each level is balanced with a number of other co-curricular activities. The active working of self-employment unit and water analysis unit enables the students to rise to the expected level of application level.
