Dr. Vijitha Mukundan

Hailing from Thrissur, Kerala, Vijitha Mukundan completed her schooling at various Kendriya Vidyalayas across Nagaland, New Delhi, and Kerala. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Vimala College and a Master’s from St. Thomas’ College, both in Thrissur. Vijitha has proven her expertise on a national level, ranking AIR 116 in GATE 2012 and AIR 40 in the CSIR-UGC NET 2014. After gaining valuable teaching experience in engineering colleges, she joined as Assistant Professor at Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy, in 2017. A year later, she earned her Ph.D. from NIT Calicut under the mentorship of Dr. Ashish Awasthi. Today, she is an active researcher and frequent contributor to international journals and conferences. Her work focuses on the fascinating world of numerical analysis, modeling, and computational methods for ODEs and PDEs.

Vijitha is deeply committed to academic leadership and digital education. She currently serves as the University Representative for the Board of Studies at St. Mary’s College, Thrissur (2024–2027), and previously contributed as an Alumnae Representative for the Board of Studies at Vimala College (2020–2023).

A strong advocate for accessible learning, she developed and coordinated a free SWAYAM online course on “PDE and Systems of ODE” for the UGC in 2023. Her media contributions include serving as a Resource Person for the SWAYAM PRABHA DTH Channel and being appointed as a Master Trainer for the Government of Kerala’s Digital Media and Information Literacy Campaign in 2022. As an active researcher focusing on numerical analysis and computational methods, she continues to contribute frequently to international journals and conferences.
