Athira hails from Ashtamichira in Thrissur district. She did her graduation in English Language and Literature from Nirmala College, Chalakudy and Post Graduation in English Language and Literature from Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. She qualified her UGC-NET and worked as faculty in the department of English, Carmel College, Mala during the academic year 2021-22. She joined Sacred Heart College in 2022.
