Shyama was born in Chalakudy, Thrissur District. She completed her schooling from CKMNSS Senior Secondary School, Chalakudy. She completed her graduation in physics from Sacred Heart College Chalakudy and post graduation from Christ College, Irinjalakuda. She joined the Department of Physics, Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy as Guest Lecturer on 01 st August 2018. Her areas of research interests include Material Science. Her teaching interests are in Statistical Mechanics, Nuclear and particle physics, and Electronics.
