Pournami was born in Nilambur, Malappuram District. She has completed her schooling from CKMNSS Senior Secondary School, Chalakudy and Peevees Model School,Nilambur. She completed her graduation in chemistry from Sacred Heart College Chalakudy and post graduation from Sree Kerala Varma College,Thrissur. She has pursued her B.ed degree from Hindi Prachara Kendra College of Teacher Education,Poyya. She has qualified GATE 2022 and SET 2022 exams.
