Generating awareness for judicious and sustainable consumption of energy
Promoting the objective of energy conservation by organizing events such as webinars, competitions, workshops, rallies, etc.
To sensitize the younger generation about the need for protecting and preserving the environment.
To promote renewable energy and its adoption amongst students
To make energy conservation a lifestyle.

URJAKIRAN 2023 - Energy Club and Brain Society, Mala(NGO), in association with Energy Management Centre, Govt. of Kerala and Centre for Environment and Development, organised Energy Conservation Awareness Seminar on 19/01/2023 in Clare Hall. Hon'ble Chalakudy MLA Sri. T. J. Saneesh Kumar Joseph, inaugurated the function. Mr. A.V. Thomas, Director of Brain Society, welcomed the gathering. The College Principal, Dr. Sr. Irene presided over the function. Ms. Fency K.F, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics felicitated the occasion. The session was attended by Mr. Alan Sebastian, an EMC resource person. The talk was really informative. The topic of different energy sources and techniques to conserve them was covered. The seminar also underlined the necessity of adopting an energy-conserving lifestyle. Adv. K.R.Ratnakumar, Legal Counsellor of Brain Society, proposed the vote of thanks..
ZERO WASTE DECOR EXHIBITION - Energy club in association with KADAMBARI a non-profit organization based in Kodakara Thrissur conducted an exhibition of Zero Waste Cloth products at College Campus on Dec 22nd 2022. Kadambari Charitable Trust is a group of women working with rural women empowering them through training and supporting them in making plastic free toxic free zero waste products from tailoring scraps. Kadambari is not only creating an opportunity for women in income raising for their subsistence but also putting our stance against plastics, the ubiquitous pollutant in the world through creating alternate eco-friendly zero waste products. The tailoring scraps are collected hygienically cleaned and converted creatively into utilitarian products. This upcycling process saves our environment and recover the tailoring discards from moving into landfills or for open burning. They work on zero waste principles. Dr.Nijo Varghese,H.O.D., Dept of physics welcomed the gathering. Principal Rev. Dr. Sr Irene , inaugurated the exhibition . Ms. Rajasree Vasudevan , official member of KADAMBARI organization coordinated the event. III DC and II DC students served as volunteers for the exhibition and sale of the products.
ENERGY CONSERVATION QUIZ - Energy club in association with IIC (institution innovation council) and Department of physics conducted an interdepartmental quiz competition on December 14 , 2022 as part of observing National Energy Conservation Day at Clare Hall. The programme commenced with students taking oath on energy conservation . Vice principal Dr.Sr.Princy Anto inaugurated the programme and led the pledge/oath taking. Dr. Nijo Varghese, HOD , Department of physics ,felicitated the event. II M.Sc physics students led the quiz programme. 90 students participated in the quiz programme. The team consisted of two students each. The quiz was conducted in two rounds , preliminary and final round. After the preliminary round 5 teams were selected for the final round. The first prize was secured by Ms.Sona Mariya and Ms. Abia Cleetus of III DC Physics . The second and third prize was bagged by Ms. Devika and Ms.Alphonsa ( I DC B.Com Cooperation)and Ms. Jesteena and Ms. Sreelakshmi ( II M.Sc Computer Science) respectively. Ms. Fency K F and Ms. Libi Prakash , Faculty ,Physics Department coordinated the event along with energy club student coordinator Ms. Arshana Pullikudy (II M.Sc physics).
LED STAR MAKING WORKSHOP - A workshop on LED star was conducted as a skill development training program. I MSc., I BSC & II BSc. students were trained to make LED stars. Ms. Fancy K F and Mr. Jaison K T were the resource person. Principal Dr. Sr. Irene inaugurated the sail of the stars and all the stars were purchased by the staff and students of the college.
SHOONYA PLEDGE - Energy Club attempted to create awareness about Shoonya- zero pollution mobility campaign, which is a central government initiative. Several students took the pledge through the web portal.
POWER QUIZ - Energy club in association with Kerala State Electricity Board officers Association conducted a college level Quiz competition (Preliminary level) at Sacred Heart College. Mr.Thilakan E. K. ( Assistant Engineer, KSEB Chalakudy) conducted the Quiz . 19 students participated in the quiz. Anjali K (I DC Physics) secured first position and Neena Mol U.T. (II PG physics) got second position. Both of them got selected for the next round.
ENERGY QUIZ 2022 - Energy Conservation Society (ECS) in collaboration with the Physics department of Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy with the support of Energy Management Center-Kerala conducted an inter-collegiate Energy Quiz competition at the college auditorium. The formal inauguration session started with prayer. Smt. Sindhu Loju (Vice chairperson, Chalakudy Municipality) inaugurated the function. Smt. Sathyabhama, Principal, Dr. Sr. Irene, Dr. K.Soman (President, Energy Conservation Society), Mr. Trinayanan ( General Secretary, ECS) were present in the program. 28 teams participated in the competition. Mr. Baby Kuriakose ( Consulting Energy Technologist) served as the quiz master. The first position was bagged by St. Teresa’s College Ernakulam. The second position was secured by Christ College, Irinjalakuda. The third position was achieved by Mar Thoma College for Women ,Perumbavoor.
