The Department of Chemistry is having a Self Employment Unit. It aims to empower the women by giving hands-on training to make soaps, detergents, hand-wash, dishwash, pain balm, sanitizer etc. The students of the Department produce these materials and sell them both within the College and outside. The profit obtained from the sales of these materials are used for charity purposes. During the Corona pandemic, the Department initiated the production of sanitizers and hand-wash and distributed them in the nearby locality, schools, railway station, police station, fire force, traffic police, KSRTC bus stand, rickshaw stand etc. and created awareness.
